The killing of Jews did happen in Poland as well, mostly because they were annexed by the Nazis. Poland only had 20,000,000 people... and, before the war started, one third of Poland´s population was Jewish! That´s about 6,000,000 Jews! One third of Warsaw´s population, Poland´s capital, was Jewish! The Poles couldn´t oppose to the Nazis by helping the Jews, because then they´d get killed. However, there were some brave Poles who took the risk of helping Jews, knowing they will get killed if a German troop finds out. After the war, there were roughly only 10% Jews alive of the prewar population of 6,000,000. That´s roughly 5,400,000 Jews killed in Poland.
This is a part of the Ghetto in Warsaw which was demolished. It is now so much smaller than it was in WW2.
